This course will provide an excellent opportunity for students to build their confidence recognizing, assessing and treating temporomandibular disorders (TMD). This course uses an evidence based protocol (DC/TMD) for diagnosis.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: Learn how to describe and understand TMJ anatomy, biomechanics and pathomechanics. Recognize contributing etiology. Learn how to simply and easily assess the TMJ and determine potential diagnoses. Learn manual techniques, exercises and management strategies for the treatment of TMD. Understand the role of the physiotherapist. Understand and identify the complex patient and team approach. Have confidence educating your patients about management and self care.
