Reflective practice is a foundational skill for professional growth and competency in occupational therapy and many other regulated professions. By transforming everyday experience into meaningful learning, reflection sharpens clinical reasoning, supports ethical decision-making, and strengthens alignment with evolving professional standards. Increasingly, professional associations are integrating reflective practice into continuing competency frameworks—making this a vital tool for today’s practitioners. Our one-hour, on-demand Reflective Practice education program is designed to help occupational therapists develop or deepen reflective skills that support lifelong learning and sustainable, client-centred practice. The workshop introduces the history and theory behind reflective practice, explores its relevance in professional standards, and offers practical tools to incorporate reflection into your daily clinical work. Participants are encouraged to pause between lessons to complete the guided exercises and apply new insights to real-world contexts. A brief quiz at the end of the program helps consolidate learning. A certificate of completion is provided, which may be eligible for continuing education credit with your professional association.
Workshop Objectives: Explore the history and principles of reflective practice; Recognize the impact of reflection on personal and professional growth; Learn reflective exercises you can use right away; Identify ways to build reflection into everyday clinical practice. Program Highlights: Six concise, accessible lessons—available anytime, anywhere: Companion workbook with practical, actionable exercises: Aligned with professional practice standards and quality improvement goals: Encourages integration of reflection into routine decision-making and care delivery.
