We are thrilled to announce that as of April 23, we have returned to our original name: the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy.

This shift from Therapists to Therapy better reflects who we are today. It celebrates an inclusive association that proudly welcomes occupational therapist assistants and affiliate members alongside occupational therapists.

Below is a collection of the logos that have represented the association since its inception.

Collection of previous OSOT logos

As we start this new chapter, we are proud to share our new logo. It captures the OSOT of today and the future we are building alongside our members. We are working to advocate for our profession, support your daily practice, and ensure occupational therapy continues to thrive across Ontario.

New OSOT Logo

The new logo is designed to be both modern and accessible. Inspired by the "one word" submissions you shared earlier this year, this original design was also guided by research into our evolving profession. Meaningful and intentional design motifs have been built into the letters of our name:

  • The First "O": A trillium to represent Ontario, featuring people in the center to highlight person-centered care. It is also intended to evoke a sense of connection, community, and the supportive environment foundational to occupational therapy.
  • The Second "O": A collection of dots that represents diversity within occupational therapy.
  • The Colours: Prominent blue and green shades were selected to evoke a feeling of calmness and tranquility. The green tones specifically represent the early 20th-century origins of the profession, and the colour of the uniforms occupational therapists wore.

Over the coming weeks and months, you will see our website, branding, and wording change to match the new OSOT. We appreciate your patience as we make these updates. We look forward to continuing to grow this community with you as the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy!
