National Study: Caring for Canadians: Canada’s Future Health Workforce – The Canadian Health Workforce Education, Training and Distribution Study
The Canadian Health Workforce Education, Training and Distribution Study was released last month. As the first of its kind, the results discuss worsening gaps in our national health care workforce. Issues in rural and remote communities, training capacity for Northern regions, and building the Indigenous workforce are highlighted. A current need for 2,000 more registered OTs to support the existing health care workforce nationwide. OSOT continues to advocate for additional seats in the OT programs in Ontario, as well as implementing models of care including occupational therapist assistants. View the study.
