News Release | Ontario 2025 Budget: A Plan to Protect Ontario
Last week, the Ontario government tabled the 2025 budget. The focus for this year’s budget is the economy, infrastructure, and protecting Ontarians against US tariffs.
In healthcare, the government will invest:
- $56 billion in the next decade for healthcare infrastructure
- $1.8 billion towards the Primary Care Action Plan
- Additional $1.1 billion towards hospitals, including an increase to the surgical system
- $280 million in the next two years on expanding Integrated Community Health Service Centres for surgical and diagnostics
- Additional $175 million towards the Ontario Autism Program
Although this budget did not include many investments towards the various areas in which we advocate, OSOT will continue to connect and collaborate with the Ontario government to raise awareness of the profession of occupational therapy, and commits to continually build relationships within Ontario’s ministries.
