OSOT Participates in Consultation on the Ontario Autism Program Provider List Expansion to Include Mental Health Providers
OSOT participated in a consultation with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to provide input on the criteria for mental health professionals on the Ontario Autism Program’s (OAP) provider list. Occupational therapists already appear under core services and will be included under mental health as well. The discussion focused on minimum requirements, which should mirror COTO standards of practice. OTs may continue to provide services even if they are not on the provider's list. Thank you to Sheri Martin Soosaar and Kim Lamont, who joined OSOT’s Executive Director, Marnie Lofsky, in representing OSOT members.
