OSOT Responds to the Fourth Review of the AODA

In February 2022, the Ontario Government appointed Rich Donovan to review the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The AODA is a law that provides guidelines for organizations to develop and enforce accessibility standards in Ontario.

OSOT participated in the review process by seeking feedback from our Sector Teams. OSOT submitted a written submission on November 8, 2022, outlining the received feedback. These insightful comments emphasize the need for accessibility in rural and Northern communities and included suggestions for amending the accessibility standards in residential spaces. The fourth review’s final report with the consultations will be released in June 2023.
