John McGivney Children's Centre

The John McGivney Children's Centre provides family-centered paediatric therapy services in the Windsor-Essex County community, enriching the lives of children and youth with special needs by helping them reach their full potential. As a HOOPP employer, JMCC values collaboration, honesty, innovation, leadership, diversity, equity and inclusion. Reporting to the Manager of OT/PT Services, the Occupational Therapist will provide occupational therapy services within the professional scope of practice including assessment, consultation, education, intervention and documentation.

The Occupational Therapist will fulfill clinical standards of practice as mandated by the regulatory body. They will provide comprehensive clinical rehabilitative services within the Centre, homes, schools and in the community. They will collaborate with clients, families, community partners, and other team members in the planning and delivery of programs and services, including specialized programs (seating, ACC, etc.). The Occupational Therapist will be responsible to assess, prescribe and monitor assistive devices; and will supervise programs and activities delegated to others including support staff and students. They will participate in clinical education and knowledge transfer activities; and ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of services delivered.
