OSOT Participates in the 2024 Ontario Pre-Budget Submissions 

The Ontario Government’s Standing Committee for Finance and Economic Affairs held Pre-Budget Consultations beginning early this year. This was an opportunity for individuals and organizations to provide insights on their priorities for the 2024 provincial budget. OSOT provided the following recommendations:             
  • Provide fair and equitable compensation across healthcare sectors. 
  • Focus on allied health services in primary care, home and community care, and long-term care sectors. 
  • Invest in the education of allied health care professions, including occupational therapy, by incentivizing employers and preceptors to take students to complete their clinical hours in preparation for regulatory registration. 
The provincial government is expected to table Ontario’s 2024 budget in the spring. Read the full submission.
