Join the OSOT Board Standing Committees 

 

With the recent Bylaw changes, OSOT is adding more diverse voices to our Human Resources, Finance, and Nominations & Awards Committees. We are adding up to 4 non-Board members to each committee, who have: 

  • An interest in contributing to OSOT governance
  • Want experience on a board or committee
  • You must be an OT or OTA working or living in Ontario. OSOT will consider other professions with finance and/or human resources expertise.

Finance Committee: 

  • Oversees OSOT’s financial affairs, including reviewing the annual budget and quarterly financial statements.
  • Assists in developing financial policies and practices. 
  • Explores major financial risks to OSOT and generates risk management strategies. 
  • Contributes to decisions related to insurance, investments, etc. 

Nominations & Awards Committee: 

  • Develops, maintains, conducts, and makes recommendations to improve the annual recruitment, selection, nominations, and election process for Directors. 
  • Identifies Board competency needs and any gaps. 
    Supports OSOT’s awards program by setting criteria, promoting, and selecting recipients.

Human Resources Committee:  

  • Oversees annual volunteer recruitment and appreciation.
  • Reviews staffing needs and ensures adequate staffing. 
  • Establishes and oversees the performance review of the Executive Director.
  • Develops and implements an up-to-date succession plan for the Executive Director.

Your Commitment: 

Committees meet virtually approximately once a month for 1 hour, with minimal prep time required. Meetings will start in September 2024. Your term will extend for 18 months (until March 31, 2026) with the possibility of extending it one year at a time.
