NEWS RELEASE | Ontario Connecting 300,000 More People to a Family Doctor and Primary Care Teams This Year 

Last week, the Ontario Ministry of Health announced Dr. Philpott’s Primary Care Action Team call for proposals launch, with the goal to connect every person in the province to primary care by 2029. $213 million will be invested in the expansion and creation of 80 primary care teams. Eligible primary care practices and clinicians working with their Ontario Health Team can submit a proposal to create or expand one of the existing team-based models, including Family Health Teams, Community Health Centres, Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics, and Indigenous Primary Health Care Organizations. The deadline to submit a proposal is May 2 at 5:00 pm EDT.
